YouShoot Launches First Nationwide Digital Camera Rental Service For Events

YouShoot announces the first digital alternative to cardboard disposable cameras for use at special events like weddings, religious ceremonies, and corporate events

Cambridge, MA April 28, 2004 - YouShoot, a digital camera rental and website services company, announced the launch of the first nationwide digital camera rental service for special events this week. YouShoot is an alternative to using cardboard disposable cameras for events like weddings, religious ceremonies, or corporate events. With YouShoot guests take pictures during the event with digital cameras and can then view and print the pictures online afterwards.

When we got married YouShoot would have been perfect for our wedding. Instead, we waited weeks to see our pictures, and only a handful of people have ever seen them, said former bride Stacey Moore. Sharing our pictures with friends and family on a website would have saved a lot of trouble trying to mail prints to family members around the country.

We started YouShoot to help people share the special moments in their lives with the people closest to them, said Brian Silverstein, co-founder of YouShoot. At a normal event, even if there are disposable cameras for guests to use, they never get a chance to see the pictures. We give guests one location to go online to view and print all of the pictures a few days after the event.

I know one of our guests took a lot of digital pictures at our wedding, but I have only seen the two that she sent to me by email. YouShoot would have helped get all of our pictures into one place for everyone to enjoy, Moore said.

How it works

First, YouShoot customers reserve digital cameras for their event date at YouShoot.com. Before the event, they receive a case containing the cameras by mail. During the event, guests take pictures with easy-to-master digital cameras. Afterwards, customers simply return the cameras in a prepaid mailing case and YouShoot posts the pictures online for guests to view, share, download, and print.

YouShoot offers all-inclusive packages starting at $395 that include digital camera rental, all shipping costs, a personal website with full-size pictures, and damage insurance for the cameras, making it an ideal addition to a traditional photographer, or a photography alternative for events with a tight budget. Prints are available online for the market rates of $0.29 per 4x6 and $3.99 per 8x10. Visit http://www.YouShoot.com for more details.

YouShoot offers a partners program for industry professionals like event planners that pays commissions for referral sales. More information is available at http://Partners.YouShoot.com.
